Barrett Brown Has Finally Been Released From Prison

Good News for journalism!

Barrett Brown has been released from federal prison where he has been “captive” for nearly four years. 

Barrett Brown is now (semi) free. For the next two years, he will be under permanent surveillance, and the smallest misconduct could bring him back to prison. Here are his release post-conditions:

Everyone should be happy for his release. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of work to do if we want to achieve more freedom. No one should conform to the current system, which is ruining our lives.

Citizens of the world should work together to prevent “Barrett Brown’s cases” happening again. We are morally obliged to protect honest journalism. Otherwise, we will become governmental “puppets” accepting anything from the government, including atrocities.

Journalists must remain loyal to their public and seek the truth, even if they are under threat on a regular basis and we must energetically support them because no one else can enlighten our lives in a similar fashion/way to the journalists.

No one will arrange your future [for you]! You are the owner of your destiny! So connect with other people and organise with them to protect people’s rights(peacefully).

Surveillance:The Moral Obligation To Stand Up

Disgracefully, our governments conducting surveillance on us, with the intent of monitoring our movements in real time. In doing so, they deliberately violate our right to privacy. Nevertheless, it is inadvertently passing by many people, who cannot accept it because, apparently, governments do not monitor civilians.

Snowden’s revelations helped us to better understand that the NSA was amassing data from millions of users from across the world. After that, millions of people woke up and stood up to take their rights back again. However, there are still millions of people who foolishly believe in our rotten system. Sadly, they will never change it regardless of governmental behaviour since their exposure to manipulation has been for such a long time.

People must choose between standing up or losing their lives. Over the last few years, software engineers, concerned about our privacy, have designed/developed new software which enables us to circumvent the existing governmental surveillance.

Nowadays, there is a large amount of software operating and preserving our privacy from our governments like “TAILS” or “QUBES”. If you believe in your privacy, it is the time to take action to protect your communications because it is your right. In doing so, you will take back some control over your life and you will also be able to help others. Governments will suggest that it is only used by terrorists. Nevertheless, most of the users are journalists, activists and privacy advocates. If you care about your privacy then, you should stand up for your friends, family and future children.

Remember,  the more that people use this software, the stronger it will be. Therefore, it will be more challenging for our governments to monitor us in real time. I am not suggesting that you commit any crime or go against anyone since this software is mostly legal in all countries, with a few exceptions. We are not terrorists or criminals! We are just citizens of the world, who want to protect our rights.

Unfounded Accusations Against Wikileaks

In recent times, numerous “leftist” journalists and the U.S. Democratic Party have accused Wikileaks and the Russian government of colluding to help Trump. It is the first time that leftist organisations have virulently accused Wikileaks. For that reason, it is important to analyse what has happened.

Initially, Wikileaks formally announced that it owned thousands of John Podesta’s (Hillary Clinton presidential campaign) emails, including Clinton’s crimes. Wikileaks immediately announced the publication of all emails before the U.S. elections. As a result, Clinton accused Wikileaks of colluding against her. She also asserted that the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) had suggested that Russian hackers had hacked Podesta’s email with the intent of interfering in the U.S. presidential elections.

United States’ biased media took Clinton’s words as truth and began a campaign to undermine Wikileaks’ reputation. Unbelievably, there are not many journalists who have examined if the accusations are real or fabricated.

To better understand what has occurred, let’s analyse the facts.

1.Clinton’s accusations.

-Clinton fabricated conspiracy accusations against Wikileaks to hold her reputation. The FBI announced that Wikileaks did not have any connection with the Russian government. However, the FBI declared that the Russian government could hack U.S. computer systems. Nevertheless, it is not something new since both countries have done it many times to each other. In conclusion, Clinton’s accusations are unfounded.

2.Media accusations.

-Media has mostly been endorsed by Hillary Clinton and her team, which means that they are biased. For that to happen, John Podesta personally met several journalists to plan the coverture of the U.S. elections. It is disappointing for their public because journalists should fact check/verify information before any publication. It is clear that all media accusations have been unfounded.

3- Powerful people.

-Powerful people have helped Clinton to fabricate conspiracy theories to annihilate Wikileaks members.

Why I think that Wikileaks is an unbiased journalistic organisation:

Wikileaks has published millions of documents related to several governments across the world. For those, who have suggested that Wikileaks has only published documents related to the U.S. I will write more related to it later.

Here is the Timeline of all Wikileaks publications since its origins:

-Was Wikileaks partisan during the last U.S. elections?

Over the last year, several organisations and journalists have accused Wikileaks of being partisan after it released emails linked to Clinton’s “atrocities.” It is irrefutable that Wikileaks published more documents associated with Clinton than with Trump. Nevertheless, it does not mean that Wikileaks is a partisan organisation. Instead, Wikileaks is an honest journalistic platform, which possesses a 100% accuracy record in its publications since its creation.

“WikiLeaks publishes suppressed documents of diplomatic, ethical, historical or moral significance that reveal illegal or immoral behaviour. No government or private enterprise is immune. WikiLeaks is entirely funded by its readers – not by public funds, like the BBC, and not by private foundations, like the vast majority of non-governmental organisations. WikiLeaks is not “anti-western” or “anti-US It releases public interest material on governments and corporations – no matter who they are”.

-Why did Wikileaks publish emails linked to Clinton but not Trump ? Did Wikileaks unbiasedly publish the emails during the campaign? Why did Wikileaks not publish anything associated with Trumps’ “taxes?”

I am exhausted from listening to people affirming that Wikileaks is a dishonoured organisation, which deliberately published documents linked to Clinton to ruin her life. Strangely, some journalists recommended Wikileaks not to publish any document during the campaign as it might help Trump. Disregarding this advice, Wikileaks published all documents as it was considered to be in the public’s interest. Wikileaks had the duty to inform the public regarding misconduct behaviour from a presidential candidate before the elections in order to allow people to be well- informed. Honest journalism is about seeking truth regardless of the author.

-Why did Wikileaks not publish anything related to Trump’s “taxes”?

Unbelievably, numerous individuals suggested that Wikileaks expose documents associated with Trump’s misbehaviour. But how? Wikileaks did not have any documents related to him, but if Wikileaks possessed such documents, they would have been published.

WikiLeaks provides a safe means for whistleblowers to make disclosures to the public on wrongdoing committed by any government or private enterprise. For that reason, it is imperative to help whistleblowers.

In conclusion, journalistic platforms are obliged to remain loyal to the public and publish documents associated with any governmental crime.

All accusations against Wikileaks are partisan and malicious. Wikileaks has never collaborated with the Russian government. In fact, it has released over 650,000 critical documents relating to Russia under Vladimir Putin. In my opinion, people who think that Wikileaks is a partisan organization are partisan, and malicious or ignorant. 

 

Wikileaks: The Last Spark Of True Journalism

The recent election of Donald Trump promises to be a torment for those who support democracy and freedom of the press across the world. Everything indicates that the upcoming government will target the media, with the intent of censoring all sorts of news related to governmental decisions. For that to happen, Trump is plotting with his cabinet the implementation of some controversial measures which aims at scanning all articles before official publication. Disgracefully, it will be adopted by many other governments from around the world, leaving millions of people misinformed. In doing so, journalists will have to choose between being loyal to their public and risking their lives or being puppets of the new government.

Fortunately, there are many honest journalists, who are willing to risk their lives in order to maintain their remain loyalty to their public. To that end, they will have to build a strong network with other brave journalists in order to circumvent the existing censorship, with the intent of informing people about anything related to governmental decisions “in real time”. Sadly, the lack of resources will negatively impact their capacity to do true journalism. Presumably, the government will implement financial measures to punish those journalists who break the new law. In doing so, they will have to seek alternative sources to finance their journalistic projects.

Analyzing the current situation, Wikileaks is the only journalistic organization in the world with the capacity to circumvent governmental censorships. Wikileaks has demonstrated its reliability for a decade and has never been compromised by any governmental body at any point since its launch. They have been able to resist daily threats from a wide spectrum of powerful organizations and governments. Wikileaks is the only organization, which has been able to be unbiased. For that reason, it is important to ensure the full operability of Wikileaks in order to keep ourselves informed about the several governmental “atrocities”.

We know that Wikileaks is very important in our lives, so now, it is time to take action, and work all together to protect it from governmental attacks. There are many ways to help. You could become a volunteer or you could make a financial donation. In doing so, you will be able to keep it running. Thus you must make a decision! Do you want to become a governmental puppet or take actions to prevent censorship?

What is your decision?

My decision is clear. I will always support organizations like Wikileaks because without it I would become and as times fades, my persona would gradually turn into a “vegetative” state.

I personally think that Wikileaks did not help Trump, instead, it helped people to be aware about the dark side of politics. I will cover that in my next piece. Trump’s Victory: The Global Rise Of Fascism

The phenomenon of Donald Trump is boosting all right-wing European organizations, which [are] now growing to levels not seen since the Second World War. As a result, Marie Le Pen, the president of the Front National(FN), could become the next French president in 2017.If it ever happens it would be the first time that a fascist candidate has won a presidential election in Europe since Adolf Hitler.

Germany will also hold presidential elections in 2017 where the anti-immigration right-wing populist party AFD (Alternative Für Deutschland), was able to achieve representation in the most important German states (including Berlin) in the most recent German states elections, held early this year. Everything indicates that in the next presidential elections the AFD will dispute victory with Merkel’s party, the CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany).

There are many parallels between the last U.S. presidential elections and the German presidential elections of 2017. The German media is doing the same as the American [media], and they are not informing the public about the real chances of victory that the AFD has. In doing so, it may trigger a low turn-out of left-wing supporters on the day of the presidential elections, giving the AFD the opportunity to win. The anti-immigration supporters will be more mobilized than ever and will go to vote in mass.

In the event that the AFD and the FN win the presidential elections in Germany and France, the degradation/decline of democracy will be inevitable. These two victories may create a domino effect that will affect many other countries, spreading fascism around the world, where dictatorships will become predominant.

One of the very few remaining avenues for learning why fascism is rising across the world- beyond Trump’s victory- is to study European history, as the similarities are evident.

The left-wing has traditionally been divided at crucial times in history, focusing on internal fights, while fascists organizations have had the transformative capacity to convince millions of people to support their positions. For that to happen, they take left-wing slogans as own, with the intent of attracting left-wing voters.

Trump’s victory may trigger all these problems around the world and people are not aware of it. It would be interesting to demand European media to say the truth about what is happening and about the real chances that these anti-immigration political parties have of winning the presidential elections in France and Germany, [so as] to ensure that people are well-informed. In doing so, many of them will acknowledge the importance of voting for an alternative candidate in order to defeat fascist organizations that could bring chaos upon our countries.

Unfortunately, everything indicates that the media is not going to change its way of informing people, so prepare yourself for some upcoming difficult years, and if you can, try to organize yourself to resist attacks that come from these new regimes.

What Is Next?

Days after the U.S. presidential elections, millions of incredulous people are trying to assimilate Trump’s victory. No one can understand why millions of Democrats, Latinos, and blacks voted for a racist candidate.

This phenomenon must be analyzed further by experts to ensure that it will never happen again. Our society cannot accept having a racist guy as president because it re-opens old wounds that appeared to be healed a long time ago. Now is time for the Republican political party to call Mr. Trump to abandon his racist rhetoric that has already caused a lot of damage in the U.S.

The Democratic party in its lowest hours is mostly to blame for Trump’s victory. However, they are blaming third political parties, distorting reality. Democratic leaders should assume responsibility since the party is facing marginalization or even disappearance if they are not able to regenerate the internal structure to attract old voters,and young people again.

The main reason why millions of Democrats voted for Trump is because they were not willing to vote for Clinton, who represented the establishment and corruption installed in the government for over 30 years. In doing so, Democrats did not feel connected to those values that the party represented years ago.

On the other side of the coin, the Republican political party is going through sweet times, and they will keep “the House”(congress) and Senate. In such a context, Trump may have an easy first-term presidency, where he will be able to gain approval of most of his policies without any real opposition. As a result, many racial conflicts will arise around the country.

Many experts suggest that the Republican party through the Congress and Senate could represent the counterweight in Trump’s presidency to ensure that he does not implement controversial policies that may affect millions of immigrants across the country. For that reason, they allege that the Republican party has many internal conflicts since a large number of members are positioned against Donald Trump. However, the most reactionary right-wing has always had the stunning capacity to heal their wounds pretty fast and unite in the direction of working together to keep their privileges and defeat their common enemies, so everything indicates that this time will no be different.

After this political earthquake that has convulsed the world, it is time to regenerate all institutions and be reflective. For that to happen, civil organizations will have to monitor all governmental movements to ensure that the law is respected in all instances while the left-wing recomposes its structure to levels never seen before because people demand regeneration.

U.S. society should be very reactive to any racist behavior, otherwise, millions of people may suffer from the intolerance shown by small groups. No one knows exactly what will happen but it is better to be prepared for the worst case scenario. We will still have to wait for two more months to see if Trump finally moderates his rhetoric and behavior. Until then organizing to prevent future events is vital.

The Announced Death Of The System

There was a time where the vast majority of people supported the system because there was the perception that it was working in the direction of protecting people’s rights. For that to happen, powerful actors bombarded people with ads everywhere with the intent to influence people’s behavior. It happened while these powerful actors were getting rich from people, who were hard-working on a daily basis.

During these happy days, our society was ignoring the reality, which was different from the perception that everyone had. In such context, powerful actors went a step further in the direction of distorting people’s reality, deploying a plan to ensure that everyone could spend as much money as they wanted. For that reason, people could easily order loans at any bank. In doing such, people were blindly happy, thinking that they were as wealthy as some rich people.

Little by little, this virtual reality was becoming bigger and bigger, while people were getting poorer, and poorer, until one day by 2008, when the big bubble suddenly exploded exposing the reality and the system’s problems. Within a short period of time people were amazed to see that they were losing all their assets, while powerful actors were enriching themselves.

Nowadays, the existing brutal inequality affecting all layers of society, and the constant refusal from powerful actors to solve this problem, may trigger the construction of a parallel system where the vast majority of people will turn their current tenebrous lives into prosperous. For that to happen, it will be determinant to see the capacity of people to unite in order to inflict a “mortal harm” to the current system.

In many countries, the unexpected organizational capacity of people has surprised several governments. For the first time, in the last two decades, governments will have to deal with an unpredictable phenomenon that may block their power overnight. Everything indicates that the stunning manipulative capacity that some governments have over its citizens, this time will not work.

What is happening around the world is not a surprise because this system was made by powerful people to keep their privileges, and they knew that it couldn’t last forever. The nostalgia of people to have the same rights and the same opportunities as them will change the system and the political scene around the world.

No one knows, what will happen in the next 20 years, though my prediction is clear, if people work together in the same direction of creating a new system, then they are unstoppable because they belong to the vast majority, the 99%.

I also predict many turbulences before the system changes since powerful actors will try to resist as much as they can, which means that some new wars may start very soon. Oppression, repression, and injustices against people will greatly increase to levels never seen before, it will be their last response!

Surveillance: The Destruction Of Our Lives

We are living in a terrifying context where governments are gradually abolishing our civil rights, with the intent to influence our behavior. For that reason, they are deploying an advanced surveillance system that can monitor everyone around the world in real time. They are doing it intelligently and silently in order not to provoke a civil reaction, which may affect its deployment.

If people are not able to work together to stop it, the destruction of our lives will be inevitable because after some time our power to make decisions will be eliminated.

We are all at risk of sliding into a “vegetative state” where we will accept everything told by our governments without question. I want to think that this point is still far away but if we do not act soon, we will reach a point of not return. It is a fact that there are already many people who do not look on the internet for a large variety of things because they are afraid of being targeted by police departments. It means that our actions are already being influenced by third parties.

Fortunately, there are thousands of software developers that are programs that ensures some sort level of privacy, whenever we use the internet, though not everyone knows about their existence.

In recent times, several governments have gone a step further in the direction of surveilling everyone, and now, they are deploying facial recognition technology around several cities to ensure that all people are monitored. According to the provider firms, these systems are able to create millions of people’s profiles. It should terrify us because a simple hacking of the system may drive distinct police departments to wrongly detain innocents.

The facial recognition system has already failed several times, the most recent case was reported by https://theintercept.com/2016/11/04/private-intellligence-firm-proposes-google-for-tracking-terrorists-faces/ Steve Talley was arrested and accused of a bank robbery because the facial recognition system determined that he was the thief. However, the judge rejected Steve’s alibi, when he claimed he had been at work as a financial adviser for Transamerica Capital when the robbery took place. His life was ruined overnight.

I do not want to be an alarmist but if we do not take any action, what George Orwell wrote in 1984 will become a reality. In order to be free, we need to break down such surveillance, by every means possible including using software designed to grant us anonymity. People should react against all governments that are imposing surveillance on us. If you agree, look out for several interesting projects [that are about] – go and invest in them.

Hillary Clinton And Donald Trump VS Democracy

The U.S. political polarization is shaking the stability of the country to levels never seen before since the U.S. Civil War (1861 to 1865). The political class is playing a dangerous game that may turn into a harsh conflict between Democrats and Republicans. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are not working to calm the environment; instead, they are fueling conspiracy theories that make people think that the system is rigged. As a result, Clinton supporters and Trump supporters are confronting each other, and some of them are organizing attacks to be perpetrated the day after the U.S. elections. It is degrading to see people from both sides using similar arguments to attack each other.

Analysts are warning people about the existing similarities between the current polarization of the country, and the polarization that there was during the U.S. Civil War (1861 to 1865), which left 620,000 to 750,000 dead. Of course, the context is not exactly the same.

The poor U.S. educational system has misled its students so that in many cases they do not know much about historical facts that started the bloodiest conflict in U.S. history. It may encourage some people to create militias to start a revolution because they may think that a long conflict is not difficult at all.

A large number of people do not trust in the U.S. system including policeman/men and people from all social classes. It does not help to stabilize the country, which means that the political class should reverse this tendency.

Both candidates don’t have very firm values because they’re both trying to win over everyone in the country to ensure their victory. It indicates that neither of them is ready to become the next U.S.president. An honest president is someone who tries to unite different communities to work together to improve their lives.

Nowadays, all U.S. communities are very divided against each other, and soon this confrontation may trigger the next civil war. The damage is already done, but it is still possible to avoid a harsh conflict. For that reason, both candidates should put their ambitions aside in order to unite the country again. However, they seem to be blinded by these ambitions, and they are not able to see the damage that they have already caused around the country.

Several experts have suggested that neither shouldn’t be running for the U.S. presidency, alleging that the next president should be honest, tolerant, and well prepared.

Hopefully, the day after the U.S. elections either Trump or Clinton will not use bellicose rhetoric against each other, but rather work to maintain the peace around the country. For that reason, the winner will have to manage the victory wisely, and not exclude the loser from important decisions.

The next president will have to be completely transparent and demonstrate that the elections are not rigged. It may be solved by allowing international observers to check the voting process across the entire country. If that is not possible, both candidates should negotiate and choose an independent company to check all electronic ballot boxes to verify that none of them was hacked.

It will also be crucial to ensure that the FBI, CIA, NSA and the U.S. judicial system remain unbiased.

No one should use any police department to prosecute his or her opponents because if that ever happens it may trigger a dictatorship. The day after the elections people will pay attention to all the details surrounding the election process. The losers will be outraged for some time, but they will not use force unless something unfair happens.

The candidate, who loses the elections should react accordingly to the fairness of the elections. If the loser can verify that the elections are clean, then it is hard to imagine that people will reject the results. In such a scenario, all parties should ask their followers to accept it. People have already suffered a lot, and it is not acceptable to mislead them to fight for nonexistent issues.

Violence should be the last option, and everyone should defend their positions peacefully. The new president should allow his or her rivals to verify that the elections are fully clean and that there is no any political interference in any police department. Otherwise, people would have solid arguments to create militias and start a revolution against the government. It is understandable because no one wants to live in a dictatorship.

Advisors from both candidates should advise them to stop being intolerant towards one another.

Therefore, they may change their thoughts and bring harmony back to the country…..
